After labeling serious allegations of I.V. use against Lightweight champ Islam Makhachev, Lightweight Dan Hooker has been slammed online by fans of the Russian. Even Rizwan Magomedov, manager to the lightweight champ, has come out personally bashing Hooker.
The entire fiasco started right after ‘Hangman’ posted a series of tweets targeting Islam Makhachev. The New Zealander attacked the Russian for using I.V. during his rehydration process. As per USADA guidelines, the use of an I.V. drip is prohibited since it can be used as a means of injecting PEDs.
Islam Makhachev’s manager calls Dan Hooker a loser
Rizwan Magomedov did not hold himself back while responding to the allegations labeled by Hooker.
Magomedov called the former lightweight contender a loser and termed the accusations as BS. “He’s salty and just looking for attention, and that’s it” were his words.
It was not only Magomedov that was discontent with Hooker. Fans of Makhachev attacked the New Zealander ruthlessly online with name-calling and serious whatnot.
Russian fans thrash Dan Hooker online
Let’s take a look at some of the tweets that were made targeting Hooker. While some were funny, a few of them were straight vile.
There were many references to Hookers’ fight with Makhachev which the 33-year-old lost in the first round.
One Russian fan went quite far in calling Dan Hooker a journey bum.
Since the 33-year-old has clearly not displayed any proof of his allegations, the reaction from fans was quite natural and expected. But what does Hooker know that we don’t? Will he prove his allegations are true? And if he does so, what will be the consequences for Makhachev?
