UFC Star Conor McGregor’s Teammate Arrested Again

UFC’s Conor McGregor’s close associate has reportedly been arrested for the second time in under six weeks, following allegations that she assaulted her partner.

Controversy once again seems to be circling Conor McGregor’s inner circle. Just months after Dillon Danis made headlines for his role in a brawl at UFC 322, another fighter connected to the Irish star has found herself at the center of legal trouble.

Sinead Kavanagh, a longtime teammate of McGregor and a regular at SBG Ireland, was reportedly arrested on Saturday in Spain following allegations of assault. According to local reports, the 39-year-old was taken into custody around 9 p.m. in Maspalomas, Gran Canaria, on suspicion of domestic violence involving her partner.

A police statement regarding the arrest read:
“She was arrested around 9 pm on Saturday in Maspalomas for alleged domestic violence, for allegedly assaulting her partner. She will go to court today after spending two nights in police custody.”

However, the case took an unexpected turn when the alleged victim failed to appear in court. Due to the absence of testimony, no formal charges were pursued, and Kavanagh was ultimately released.

Despite the off-cage turbulence, Kavanagh appears focused on getting her career back on track. She recently shared a photo on Instagram from SBG Ireland alongside head coach John Kavanagh, captioning it, “New calendar back on track,” suggesting a renewed commitment to training.

With Conor McGregor himself hinting at a possible UFC return later this year. potentially tied to a high-profile White House event, Kavanagh could be aiming for a comeback of her own.

Sinead Kavanagh’s earlier arrest

This is not the first time Kavanagh has faced legal issues in recent months. Back in November, she was arrested following an incident aboard a Ryanair flight traveling from Gran Canaria to Dublin. Reports from Atlántico Hoy claimed the plane’s pilot was forced to abort takeoff due to what was described as Kavanagh’s “violent behavior,” which allegedly included multiple altercations with cabin crew.

Spain’s Unified Association of Civil Guards later shared video footage of officers restraining Kavanagh after landing, accompanying the post with the statement:
“We are the only defense of the citizen and we face hand-to-hand combat professionals WITHOUT RESOURCES.”

Inside the cage, Kavanagh last competed in July 2024, suffering a loss to Arlene Blencowe at the Bellator Championship Series. She holds a professional MMA record of 9–7 and previously challenged for the Bellator featherweight title at Bellator 271 in November 2021. Before transitioning to mixed martial arts, Kavanagh was also a five-time national boxing champion.
